How to clean Concrete
Cleaning concrete in a specific period will help to
extend its service life and increase its beauty. There are a lot of cleaners
are available in the market to clean concrete.
Firstly which area you want to clean? If you want to
clean outside areas this can be done by pressure washer in combination with a biodegradable detergent. Now for indoors it can be
done by bucket, scrub brush, and detergent. Hydrogen peroxide or ammonia
also work well too. For indoors bucket full of water mixed with detergent and
mop is sufficient.
Before cleaning the surface with water,
spray detergent or alkaline degreaser and leave it for 15-20 minutes and then
clean it with water.
Concrete sealer is a good option to
avoid stains. If it is inside then apply masonry primer or masonry topcoat.
Vinegar is also a good cleaner. Take
water and vinegar of equal quantity that will help to clean stains. While doing
this cleaning procedure safety must be taken. Use hand gloves, eyewear to
protect yourself from cleaning agent and protect your doors, windows, walls
etc.
More difficult stains like rust stains,
dried grout or graffiti require muriatic acid or oxalic acid to remove it.
A concrete sealant can be
applied every 2 to 3 years to increase a concrete surface’s
resistance to stains.
